New Delhi, Apr 27 (UNI) A Pakistani delegation today called upon new Delhi Mayor Arti Mehra to discuss bilateral issues between the two nations.

The 25-member delegation was led by Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry president M Nasir Khan.

During the meeting, the delegation members said the good offices of the Mayor could be used to promote the cause of mutual co-operation between the two countries.

The members bemoaned the fact that visas, for many years, were issued in respect of European countries whereas for India the duration was so inadequate that they could not visit the places of their choice. It would be in the interest of both the countries if people from each country could stay for longer duration in the other country. It would also help trade and commerce between the two countries.

The Mayor assured the Pak delegation that she would take-up with Prime Minister Manmohan Singh their demand for longer duration visas to Pak nationals visiting India.

Present on the occasion were Leader of the House Subhash Arya, Leader of Opposition Jaikishen Sharma and Municipal Councillors as well as senior officers of MCD.

The members of the delegation, who came to the Town Hall by Metro, were unanimous in their praise of Metro.
