Nagaland delegation at Beijing for Agri-China Summit

Kohima, Apr 27 (UNI) A five-member Nagaland delegation led by state Agriculture Minister K Azo Neinu arrived in Beijing to participate in the Agri-China Summit, 2007, official sources today said.

The delegation which arrived in China yesterday included Mokochung district Deputy Commissioner Abhishek Singh, the Director of Industries and Commerce and Himachal Pradesh Horticulture Minister Singhi Ram.

The summit, inaugurated by China Association of Agricultural Machinery Manufacturers chairman Gao Yuanen, showcased the latest technologies in agricultural machinery and in agri business.

The delegation discussed regarding various aspects of technology to improve agriculture, sources said.

They also suggested on encouraging farmer-level visits between Nagaland and Himachal Pradesh so that the farmers can benefit from each other's knowledge.

The delegation from Nagaland would be visiting the agricultural farms and some Food Processing Industries in China to understand the modern agricultural practices and technology in the country.
