K'taka: Minister calls for revival of family health
Udupi, Apr 27: Karnataka Minister for Medical Education Dr V S Acharya called for revival of family health system which has proved to be best in protecting the health as Primary Health Centres have failed to provide efficient health system.
Speaking after inaugurating the new +IMA BHAVAN+ of the Indian Medical Association (IMA) here last evening, he called upon the medical professionals to work in this direction to ensure good health to all.
He said "I am striving in getting more young Doctors into the Post Graduation courses in the family health system. However, most of the Medical Colleges were not allowing any student of general medicine to get into the family health system field. But I will continue my efforts in this direction, he added.
Dr Acharya said that the Union government proposes to bring in a legislation for periodical renewal of the certificate of all medical professionals. This system of renewal once in three or five years was already existed in the western countries, he added.
