Metal prices fall on sluggish industrial demand
Mumbai, Apr 27 (UNI) Metal prices fell on sluggish industrial demand, traders at the Bombay Metal Exchange said today.
In ferrous section, Copper heavy and Copper utencils declined by Rs 800 and Rs 600 per quintal respectively due to thin buying support.
And Brass cutting also fell by Rs 500 per quintal on sustained heavy selling pressure by stockists.
In non-ferrous section, copper wire became cheaper by Rs 1,200 per quintal on poor demand.
Tin slab and Nickel cathode also drifted lower by Rs five and Rs 20 respectively on improved offers by stockist.
Following are the spot metal prices per quintal: Ferrous metals: Copper heavy - Rs 35,600, Copper utensils - Rs 32,500, Brass utensils - Rs 26,000, Brass cuttings - Rs 26,500 and Aluminium utensils - Rs 11,900.
Non-ferrous metals: Copper wire bars - Rs 38,800, Aluminium ingots - Rs 14,500, Zinc slab - Rs 19,400, Lead ingots - Rs 10,100, Tin slab - Rs 760 (per kg) and Nickel cathode - Rs 2,280 (per kg).
