Manipur bids adieu to Th Navakumar

Imphal, Apr 27 (UNI) The last rites of Th Navakumar, NCP, who died here yesterday, was held at Imphal East today.

Navakumar(65), the MLA of Khundrakpam Assembly constituency, died after suffering a massive stroke. He was inspecting a Community Health Centre at Sagolmang, in Imphal East yesterday when he experienced the stroke.

He was rushed to the Regional Institute of Medical Sciences where he died later.

Chief Minister O Ibobi Singh expressed shock over Navakumar's death and said he sacrificed his life for the welfare of the people.

He extended his condolence to the bereaved family members.

Navakumar had won the Assembly elections for the first time in February last and had also served as the Joint Director of School Education and Director of SCERT.

The NCP, CPI and other organisations have also expressed grief on his death.
