M'lore customs collects Rs 600.35 cr during FY 07
Mangalore, Apr 27: The Mangalore Customs Commissionerate, having jurisdiction to 17 districts of Karnataka, has earned Rs 600.35 crore revenue during 2006-07, registering 101.75 per cent increase and surpassing the target fixed at Rs 590 crore, Commissioner John Joseph said.
Talking to newspersons here, he said the target for the year 2007-08 was yet to be fixed. However, the estimated revenue for 2007-08 was Rs 660.55 crore, which was 10 per cent more than last year's revenue.
Dr Joseph said since the Commissionerate had reached the target, the government had sanctioned one per cent of the revenue collected over and above the target towards the development of the Commissionerate.
