Junior doctors call off strike in VSS Medical College

Sambalpur, Apr 27 (UNI) The junior doctors at VSS Medical College and Hospital called off their strike from midnight yesterday after an hour-long discussion with Orissa Health Minister Duryodhan Majhi and other senior Health officials.

The Junior Doctors' Association (JDA) had ceased work for one week, protesting the attack on the Nephrology Head of the Department in the medical colony.

Orissa Medical Teachers' Association (OMTA) and other associations of the employees supported the JDA strike but on Wednesday, all associations except JDA, called off their strike.

After Mr Majhi's assurance to fulfil their demands, the JDA withdrew their strike.
