Idol demolished in Munneswaran temple

Puducherry, Apr 27 (UNI) Tension prevailed at Nettapakkam following the alleged demolition of an idol in the Muneeswaran temple.

According to police, the idol of Muneeswaran in the temple was found broken and thrown on one side of a fence, put up by a private tyre factory.

Following this, the public resorted to road rokho demonstration and laid siege to buses coming that way. Senior police officals rushed to the spot, held talks with them and brought normalcy.

Police picket had been posted in the area.
