Heavy rains likely in northeast

Pune, Apr 27 (UNI) Heavy rains are likely to occur at many places in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Melghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura.

Rain or thundershowers are also likely to occur at many places in Andaman and Nicobar Islands, and at few places in West Bengal, Sikkim, Kerala and Lakshadweep. Rain or thundershowers are likely to occur at isolated places in Orissa, Jharkhand, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Uttaranchal, Jammu and Kashmir, Vidarbha, Chattisgarh, Tamil Nadu and Karnataka.

Mainly dry weather will prevail over Haryana, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Konkan, Goa, Madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada and Andhra Pradesh.

Hot day conditions prevailed at isolated places in east Rajasthan and Marathwada. Day temperatures were markedly above normal in Jammu and Kashmir, appreciably above normal in Uttaranchal, Rajasthan and in some parts of Haryana, Punjab, south Madhya Maharashtra, Vidarbha and coastal Karnataka. They were above normal in Madhya Pradesh, north Chattisgarh and in some parts of Orissa, north Madhya Maharashtra, Telangana, Rayalseema, Tamil Nadu and Karnataka. They were appreciably to markedly below normal in some parts of Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim and Bihar. They were normal over the rest of the country.

Heavy rains have occurred at most places in Assam and Meghalaya.

Rain or thundershowers have occurred at most places in Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, and at many places in Gangetic West Bengal and Andaman and Nicobar Islands. Rain or thundershowers have also occurred at a few places in Arunachal Pradesh and Kerala and at isolated places in Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim, Orissa, Jharkhand, Bihar, east Uttar Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and Lakshadweep.

Mainly dry weather prevailed over west Uttar Pradesh, Uttaranchal, Haryana, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Rajasthan, Gujarat, Konkan, Goa, Madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada, Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka.
