Hailstorms can be made favourable for farming: Expert
Visakhapatnam, Apr 27 (UNI) Cloud Seeding operation expert, T Shivaji Rao, has said the hailstorms, which cause massive destruction to agriculture, can be turned favourable for farming with the help of cloud seeding.
According to Prof Shivaji Rao, countries like Canada and Argentina were successfully implementing hailstorm suppression methods and USA, China, Russia, France and Germany were conducting both the hailstorm supression and cloud seeding programmes to receive huge quantities of rain water to augment their ground and surface water supplies.
''Doppler radar was an important equipment for conducting indepth study into the formation of hailstroms and their water content,'' he added.
