Good demand for different qualities of tea

Kolkata, Apr 27: The different qualities of tea were up in demand at the Tea Market here last week, according to a report today.

All dooars catregories of CTC were in good demand and sold irregularly at lower rates following quality.

Nominal quantity of good Assam sold at firm rates whereas the medium Assam tended easier.

Western India buyers were active on good liquoring varieties. All sections of loose tea trade operated while Major blender and Tata Tea were quiet.

Better whole leaf Darjeeling sold well, remainder at lower while brokens irregularly lower and fannings easier with some withdrawals.

All sorts of Orthodox quality except fannings sold readily at levels lower than last.

Fanning witnessed some withdrawals. Selling of CIS was active with fair enquiry from Middle East.

North India buyers and local traders operated on bolder whole leaf and smaller brokens.

All categories of Dust sold irreglarly at lower rates following quality while Major blender and Tata Tea were quiet. Western India buyers operated on good liquoring varieties with fair support from local dealers.

Different qualities of CTC were also in good demand at Guwahati and Siliguri.
