Girls outshine boys in Plus II Arts and Commerce Examination

Dharamshala, Apr 27 (UNI) Girls outshined boys in the Plus II Arts and Commerce examinations, conducted by the Himachal Pradesh Board of School Education (HPSEB) in March and April, results of which were declared today, board chairman's B R Rahi said.

He said all the first five positions in the examinations were bagged by the girls.

Mr Rahi told UNI that out of a total of 53,681 candidates who appeared in the Arts and Commerce subjects, 29491 students were declared successful with a pass percentage was 56.29.

In all, 10,543 candidates were placed under compartment.

He said out of a total of 2,322 candidates who had appeared in the compartment candidates, 1,504 were declared successful with a pass percentage of 64.77.

The HPSEB said in the Vocational Courses, 1,504 candidates were declared successful out of a total of 749 who appeared in the examinations with 56.60 pass percentage.

Rakhee Thakur of Shimla SD Senior Secondary School bagged the first position, securing 425 marks out of 500, while Jayaprada Sharma of Kadnol Government Senior Secondary School bagged second position with 424 marks, he said.

Mr Rahi said Mohni Diman of St Beede's College, Shimla bagged third position, securing 418 marks Radhika jain of N.K.S.D. Chand Public School, Palampur bagged fourth position with 417 marks and Sawati Sharma of Bathu Government Senior Secondary School bagged fifth position with 415 marks.
