FICCI to lead business delegation to UK

New Delhi, Apr 27 (UNI) In a bid to facilitate interface between Indian carbon market sellers and buyers based in the UK, industry chamber FICCI will lead a high-level CDM Business Delegation to London on April 30.

The delegation is part of FICCI's larger objective to help Indian industry to sell its emission reductions and promote Indian Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) projects.

GE Energy Corporation Chairman Y K Modi will lead the delegation, also comprising leading carbon market players from India.

These include Excel Industries Ltd, Grasim Industries Ltd, Malana Power Co Ltd (a LNJ Bhilwara Group company), Shree Cement, AMR Constructions Ltd, Envergy Infra, ETA Star Holdings LLC, Indian Seamless Metal Tubes Ltd, Narayanpur Power Co Pvt Ltd, SN Power, Subhashri Bioenergies Pvt Ltd, Vindhyachal Hydro Power Ltd and Zenith Energy Services Pvt Ltd.

The London visit will feature a UK-India CDM interface including a buyer-seller meet and individual business meetings for CDM between the UK and Indian companies.

The event will be jointly organised by FICCI with the Climate Change Projects Office (CCPO) of the Government of UK at the DTI Convention Centre, London.

This visit is expected to give a major boost to the UK's engagement in the Indian CDM market and vice-versa.
