Court remands TRS MLA to judicial custody
Hyderabad, Apr 27 (UNI) A Metropolitan Court today remanded to 14-day judicial custody Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) MLA K Lingaiah who surrendered in connection with a fake passport case this morning.
The judge remanded Mr Lingaiah to judicial custody until May 11 and he was taken to the Chenchalguda Jail. The TRS MLA's name cropped up in the Babubhai Katara human trafficking case.
Mr Lingaiah surrendered before the Metropolitan Judge in the presence of his counsel. The Central Crime Station (CCS) had booked a case against the TRS MLA and a Gujarati woman who impersonated as his wife.
Police had already discovered that the photograph on the passport issued to the unidentified Gujarati woman was not that of the MLA's wife Tara. The CCS police had launched a hunt to nab the unidentified woman.
