Congress demands action against Minister for misleading EC
Patna, Apr 27 (UNI) Bihar Pradesh Congress Committee(BPCC) today demanded action against State Energy Minister Bijendra Yadav for misleading the Election Commission by suppressing the facts about criminal cases pending against him at the time of filing nominations during assembly elections 2005.
Chief spokesman of the BPCC Prem Chandra Mishra alleged that in his affidavit filed during nomination from Supaul constituency, Mr Yadav had suppressed the fact that a criminal case was pending against him.
The court had also issued warrant against Mr Yadav in this connection, he added and demanded action against the minister under Peoples' Representative Act.
"The statement of Mr Yadav that he was not aware about the case pending against him when he had filed nomination was factually incorrect,'' Mr Mishra said.
