CII seeks a conducive and enabling environment for Industry growth
Bangalore, Apr 27 (UNI) Expressing 'grave' concern over recent developments in acquisition of land for industrial development in Karnataka, the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) today sought the Coalition Government to come out with a policy to promote large industrial units.
Seeking the State to emulate the examples of neighbouring States, the CII in a release here said that such a policy should endeavour to provide incentives to the private sector with the government providing the much needed infrastructure which could generate and nurture employment.
CII also highlighted the important role that KIADB has to play in this regard in promoting investments and industries in and around Bangalore. The press release states that KIADB not only has the responsibility of providing land but also providing related infrastructure around it.
''A conducive and an enabling environment which supports and nurtures industrial growth should be the prime driver in attracting investments into the state'' the Industrial body said pointed out the stiff competition Karnataka face facing from neigbouring states in attracting domestic and foreign investments.
Karnataka with a resource pool of skilled workforce, excellent training and allied institutions and a proactive government is better positioned to emerge as the most industrially developed state in the country provided the infrastructure like roads, power, water etc and other factors were addressed at the earliest. Such an industrial development in the long run would create an economic growth that would address the regional disparities among the various regions in Karnataka by making the growth more inclusive and sustainable and most importantly giving an opportunity for all the sections of the society to benefit from the growth the release said.
