Boys throw acid on girls at marriage party

Jammu, Apr 27 (UNI) Three girls, including two minors, were injured last night when some boys threw acid on them at a marriage function in Akhnoor, in Jammu and Kashmir, police today said.

''Three girls of 18, 17 and 10 years of age received burn injuries when some acidic substance was thrown on them at a marriage party,'' SDPO Akhnoor Atul Sharma told UNI.

The unidentified culprits, who threw acid from some distance, managed to flee after committing the crime as there was a power cut at that time, he said.

The Girls were immediately shifted to s nearby hospital from where they were referred to Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu.

''They were discharged after the treatment,'' Mr Sharma said.

Three youths were picked up by police for questioning, he said, adding, ''We are also waiting for video cassette, which was being video graphed.'' UNI VJ BDP RS1926
