Blast toll up: 5 bodies recovered

Kanker, Chhattisgarh, Apr 27 (UNI) The death toll in yesterday's landmine blast triggered by naxalites near Pakhanjur in Chhattisgarh's Kanker district rose to 5 with the recovery of the bodies of two police constables today.

Bodies of Dev Prakash Darre and Kamlesh Kanwar were recovered from the site, where a vehicle carrying 25 police personnel exploded at a culvert and the bus fell into a 15-feet ditch.

Bodies of a Sub-Inspector and two constables were recovered yesterday, police sources said.

Three seriously injured had been sent to state capital, Raipur, for treatment, while 16 others were undergoing treatment here, the sources added.
