BJP condemns move to hike DTC fares

New Delhi, Apr 27 (UNI) The Delhi BJP today termed as "anti-people" the move of the Delhi Government to increase the DTC fares.

In a statement condemning the proposal of the Delhi Government to increase DTC fares, Delhi Pradesh BJP President Harsh Vardhan said,''the Delhi Metro Rail is already out of reach of the poor people and DTC is the only succour for them to commute between their homes and their work places.

If the DTC fares are increased, it will affect the poor and middle income groups the most. In addition, it will also affect the school buses and other transport.

Dr Harsh Vardhan alleged that the entire exercise of increasing DTC fares was to cover up the inefficiency of the Delhi Government and the corruption in DTC.

He said if the fares were increased, the BJP will strongly oppose it.
