BIS certifies Black tea for the 1st time
New Delhi, Apr 27 (UNI) For the first time in the country, Bureau of Indian Standards had lent its mark of reliability to black tea being produced by a Kerala-based company.
BIS granted certification licence to Kanan Devan Hill Produce Company Pvt Ltd to use its 'ISI' mark on black tea being produced at their factory in Munnar, a statement said today.
The licence had been granted in accordance with BIS specifications for black tea, which stipulated quality requirements among other things for tea testing, chemical ingredients and limits of pesticide residue and heavy metals.
