Andhra yet to decide on Sky Bus metro project in Hyderabad
New Delhi, Apr 27 (UNI) The government is yet to take a decision on the implementation of the 'Sky Bus metro project' in Hyderabad, the Rajya Sabha was informed today.
In a written reply in the Rajya Sabha, Minister of State for Railways R Velu said a techno-economic feasibility study for the implementation of the project in the Andhra Pradesh capital was conducted by Konkan Railway Corporation Ltd (KRCL).
Mr Velu said KRCL conducted the study on behalf of a private company of Malaysia, Doxport Technologies, Squadron Berhad, with permission from the Andhra Pradesh government.
In its report submitted to the Malaysian company in November last year, KRCL suggested introduction of Sky Bus between Uppal and Gudimalkapuram, a distance of 22 km.
The project, estimated to cost Rs 1782 crore (2006-07), would have 19 stations, KRCL said in its report.
Mr Velu said a decision on the project was yet to be taken.
