Chandigarh, Apr 27 (UNI) Punjab Public Relations Minister Bikram Singh Majithia has advised former chief minister Capt Amarinder Singh to come out courageously to protect himself through legal means so as to rebut the charges of corruption leveled against him.

In a statement issued here today, Mr Majithia appreciated the moral stand taken by the leader of opposition Rajinder Kaur Bhattal and and Congress party chief Shamsher Singh Dullo who had distanced themselves from the ongoing legal battle between the state government and "a few corrupt Congress leaders".

He claimed that deep down their hearts, both Mr Dullo and Mrs Bhattal have admitted the fact that their leaders (Capt Singh) were corrupt. However "as a face saving grace" they were leveling charges of vindictiveness against the SAD-BJP leadership, he claimed.

Mr Majithia that Capt Singh who used to threaten Akali leaders was now himself hiding from the clutches of law and had "simply disappeared from the scene of action".

The Minister further claimed that the cases registered against the SAD leaders by Capt Singh were false. However the corruption cases against Capt Singh and his colleagues including, Choudhry Jagjit Singh were registered after proper investigations, he added.

The Minister sought to remind Capt Singh that during his tenure Akali leaders and their relatives were humiliated and tortured. On the contrary, no relative of Capt Singh had been harassed by the present government and Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal had refuse to interfere in the investigation and inquiry against the former CM and his partymen in the Ludhiana City Centre scam.
