5 arrested, RDX recovered in Kashmir
Srinagar Apr 27 (UNI) Jammu and Kashmir police have arrested five militants and recovered arms and ammunition, including deadly RDX in the Kashmir valley overnight.
A police spokesman said police arrested three militants identified as Abdul Majeed Khan, Ghulam Mohammad Bhat and Wasim Jeelani Pandoo at Shopian in south Kashmir.
One hand grenade, five Kg of RDX, some posters, indiscriminating material and cash of Rs 104500 were recovered from their possession.
He said in a joint operation, police, 42 Rashtriya Rifles and 185 battalion Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) recovered four UBGL rounds and 20 rounds of ammunition from a hideout at Tral.
Spokesman said police achieved a major success when they arrested two militants Mir Tajamul Islam and Bashir Ahmed Shah for planting a liquid Improvised Explosive Device at Tral in Pulwama district on April 16.
