300 schools upgraded in Haryana
Chandigarh, Apr 27 (UNI) The Haryana Government has upgraded 300 government schools during the current academic session.
Haryana Education Minister Phool Chand Mullana said that as many as 120 Government Middle Schools had been upgraded as high schools and 180 high schools as Senior Secondary Schools.
Mr Mullana said the present State Government had taken special measures to improve the physical environment as well as teaching environment of the schools.
An amount of Rs 26.85 crore had been spent on repairs, maintenance and upgradation of the schools during the last two years, he said.
Besides, Rs 39 crore had been spent from the Haryana Rural Development Funds for special repair of the schools. A sum of Rs 44 crore had been provided under the 12th Finance Commission for special repair of the buildings, he added.
Mr Mullana said the State Government had also decided to electrify all school buildings. Separate toilets for the girls and boys had been constructed in each government school of the State for proper hygine.
