3 cops die, 17 hurt, 8 missing after Naxal attack

Kanker, Chhattisgarh, Apr 26 (UNI) Three police personnel were killed, 17 injured, three of them critically, and eight went missing in a Naxal attack in this district today.

The Naxals triggered a landmine and then opened fire at about 1900 hrs this evening near Mijgaon on Pankhajur-Durgakondal road, police said quoting preliminary reports.

The personnel were returning from Pankhajur in a bus, carrying a total of 28 people, when the attack took place 150 km from here.

An assistant sub-inspector, constable and the driver were killed.

Senior officers rushed to the spot along with a force.

Arrangements were being made to convey the injured to a hospital.
