19 new flyovers in Delhi before Commonwealth Games

New Delhi, Apr 27 (UNI) As many as 19 flyover projects are proposed to be undertaken in the national capital during 2008-09 in preparation for the 2010 Commonwealth Games, Minister for Urban Development Ajay Maken told Lok Sabha today.

Delhi government would undertake seven projects, which included Geeta Colony Bridge where work was 40 per cent complete while six other projects were at the 'concept stage.' These projects were: Uttar Pradesh Link Road, Link Road (Tunnel) from the Games Village near NH-24 to the vicinity of Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, Salimgarh fort Valodrome, East-West Corridor from Marginal Bundh Road to Minto Road, Shastri Park Tunnel Corridor and Bahadur Shah Zafar Marg.

Delhi Development Authority would undertake ten projects, which included clover leaves at the intersection of Road no 57 and Vikas Marg at Karkari More where quotation had been called for appointment of structural consultant while nine other projects were in the planning stage.

These projects were: three clover leaves at NOIDA More, three clover leaves, slip roads/Road Under Bridge approach road connecting Road no 13 to Road no 13-A at Sarita Vihar, Entry and Exit to Commonwealth Game village from NH-24 side, improvement of Circular Road along the Domestic Airport Road to approach road connecting Dwarka, entry and exit to Commonwealth Games Village from Marginal Bundh Road at Noida More, flyover at Narela on 100 Metre Road from NH-1 to Western Yamuna Canal and Road Over Bridge at Holambi Kalan Railway Crossing, improvement of Interchange at Kapashera intersection (Rajkori flyover junction), flyover and Road Under Bridge at NH-10 to railway line and flyover near Lok Nayak Puran Housing Project.

Municipal Corporation of Delhi would construction Grade Separator at Rani Jhansi Road and Dabri intersection of Pankha Road.

DDA's Technical Committee had cleared both the schemes and tenders for executing the works were likely to be invited shortly.
