Village can not prosper without urban development:Chaubey
Darbhanga, Apr 26 (UNI) Bihar Urban Development Minister Ashwini Kumar Chaubey today said the villages could not prosper without the progress of towns in the state.
Speaking to mediapersons, Mr Chaubey said here that the state government had granted Rs 725 crores for the urban development which would be spent for the development of infrastructure and basic amenities in 67 towns.
He also stated that the state government had requested the UPA government at the Centre to grant Rs ten thousand crores to achieve the national rate of urbanisation. He reminded that while national urbanisation rate was 24 per cent, it was 11 per cent in Bihar.
He said Bihar would be the first state to adopt master plan with reference to Constitutional amendment for its urban development. ' Urban Development Bill 2007, passed by NDA government, will be a source of inspiration for the entire nation, '' Mr Chaubey maintained.
