Uddhav thanks Thane citizens for election victory
Thane, Apr 26: A mammoth and colourful rally was organised to celebrate the victory of Shiv Sena in the recent Civic polls here today.
In his brief speech in the victory rally, Sena Executive President Uddhav Thackeray admitted that he was really moved by the function and had no words to express his gratitude to the people of Thane.
He declared that Thane and Mumbai will remain the Sena bastion at all times and no one can break it.
''The credit for the victory in Thane goes to the strong Sainiks and the local leaders. Not seventeen but even seven hundred generations cannot shake us,'' he declared.
''For the last two years, the observers and distracters were of the view and spread the word that it was the end of Sena on account of mass exodus, expulsion and other problems. But my Sainiks have proved them wrong by the recent results,'' Mr Thackeray said.
The victory at Thane, Mumbai and recently at Ramtek was only the beginning and we have a long way to go and win the assembly and even Parliament elections,'' he told the huge gathering.
''We will never betray the citizens, and will live upto their expectations,'' Mr Thackeray said adding that because of it, the Sena supremo had asked him to go to Thane and thank the citizens for all their love and support.
Earlier, he inaugurated the state-of-the-art sports complex of the Thane Municipal Corporation.
Municipal Commissioner Nandakumar Jantre and others were present on the occasion.
