Guj: Tulsi could be skeleton in cops' cupboard

Palanpur, Apr 26: Close on the heels of the fake encounter of Sohrabuddin leading to the arrest of two Gujarat and one Rajasthan IPS officers, one more such encounter awaits removal of dust gathered on a file shelved some four months back.

Tulshiram alias Praful alias Sameer, son of Gangaram Prajapati of Shantingar, Ujjain was gunned down in an encounter near Ambaji early in the morning on December 28, 2006.

Police chief Vipul Aggarwal at a press conference on December 28 had called him the sharp shooter of Sharif Khan Pathan. He had also accused Tulshiram of involvement in as many as two dozen criminal cases including murder, robbery, extortion, loot and smuggling of arms and many grievous crimes and a 'most wanted' criminal.

According to the police chief, at about 2230 hrs on Wednesday during that week, he had received a telephone call from SP Udaipur, Rajasthan, Mr Dinesh Kumar that a most wanted hardcore criminal of the interstate gang wanted by Gujarat and Rajasthan police had fled from a train between Himmatnagar and Shmalaji in Gujarat when he was being taken from Ahmedabad to Udaipur after he was brought to Ahmedabad in connection with hearing of a case there. The police soon swung into action and Special Operation Group (SOG) headed by PSI AA Pandya was ready.
