Tribal youth gets to capital punishment

Baripada, Apr 26 (UNI) Mayurbhanj Additional District Judge Ashok Kumar Acharaya today awarded capital punishment to a tribal youth, holding him guilty of murdering a couple suspecting them of practising witchcraft.

According to the prosecution, Charana Ho (27) and his associate Mangala Ho, killed a tribal couple, Ganara Ho, and Rupa Ho of Jodidhar village under Khunta police station on September 27, 2005, for allegedly practising sorcery.

However, Mangala Ho was acquitted due to lack of any evidence.
