Tejas LSS One makes maiden flight

Bangalore, Apr 26 (UNI) The first Tejas Limited Series Production (LSP-1) made a successful maiden flight on Wednesday, Aeronautical Development Agency (ADA) reported today.

The first Tejas to roll out of the HAL hangers, Tejas LSP-1 took to the skies at around 1400 hrs and the flight lasted 47 minutes, ADA said in a release here.

The landmark flight saw for the first time in the country any aircraft had gone supersonic in the very first flight, the relese said adding that the flight covered an altitude upto 11 km and supersonic speed of 1.1 mach. During the flight envelope all systems of the aircraft functioned perfectly well, ADA said.
