Seven more PS suspended from service for corruption

Agartala, Apr 26 (UNI) The Tripura Government has suspended seven more Panchayat Secretaries for their alleged involvement in corruption and misappropriation of funds.

With these altogether 36 officials had been suspended during the last 19 months on the charges of corruption.

Official sources said the accused secretaries allegedly misappropriated official funds allocated by the state government for various development works in the panchayat areas in different places of the state.

The suspension order for the seven was issued yesterday, official sources said adding action was initiated against them after departmental investigation.

Five of these seven were from Kumarghat Block in North district and one each were was from Jampui Hill and Khowai blocks in West district respectively.

Panchayat Minister Manik Dey said none would be spared if found involved in such corruption activities.
