Seven killed in road mishap

Samastipur, Apr 26 (UNI) At least seven people were killed and 12 others injured when a trekker carrying them collided head-on with a truck on NH-28 near Rashid village under Bachhwara police station area in Begusarai district today.

Police said the ill-fated trekker was on its way for Devna village in Begusarai district from Madhubani. The incident took place when driver of the trekker lost control over his vehicle.

The condition of five of the injured was stated to be critical.

Those who sustained serious injuries had been referred to Patna Medical College and Hospital while others were undergoing treatment at local hospital.

Most of the victims hailed from Rajnagar village in Madhubani district, police added.
