Select metal prices up on better buying support

Mumbai, Apr 26 (UNI) Select metal prices went up on better buying support, traders at the Bombay Metal Exchange said today.

In ferrous section, Copper heavy and Copper utencils rose by Rs 200 and Rs 100 per quintal, respectively, on improved demand. Brass utencil, Brass cutting and Aluminium utencil remained steady on moderate demand.

In non-ferrous section, Zinc slab increased by Rs 400 per quintal on lesser stock supply while copper wire bars, Aluminium ingot and Lead ingot remained flat on moderate demand.

Tin slab fell by Rs 15 per kg on sluggish demand.

Following are the spot metal prices per quintal: Ferrous metals: Copper heavy - Rs 36,400, Copper utensils - Rs 33,100, Brass utensils - Rs 26,000, Brass cuttings - Rs 27,000 and Aluminium utensils - Rs 11,900.

Non-ferrous metals: Copper wire bars - Rs 40,000, Aluminium ingots - Rs 14,500, Zinc slab - Rs 19,500, Lead ingots - Rs 10,100, Tin slab - Rs 765 (per kg) and Nickel cathode - Rs 2,300 (per kg).
