Kolkata, Apr 26 (UNI) With the target of achieving 20 per cent growth within this fiscal, the United Bank of India(UBI) will open 150 branches within three years under Core Banking Solutions(CBS) in north, west and southern parts of India.
Speaking at a press conference here today, UBI CMD P K Gupta said that the bank has planned to open 41 branches within June and another 50 after July.
The bank would now go outside east and north-eastern market with its expansion proposals, he said. The bank would open branches in Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, Madhya Pradesh and other southern states.
'' The bank would also bring 600 branches under its core banking solutions by March 2009 and this new business segment would cater to at least 84 per cent of its total business,'' Mr Gupta said.
The bank has opened seven branches in 2006-07 taking its network of branches to 1325. The bank's ATM network has gone up to 144 as on March 2007. The Bank has also tied up with Cash Tree and the customers would have access to 11 more branches.
