Srinagar, Apr 26 (UNI) United Jehad Council (UJC) chairman Syed Salahuddin has described the third round-table conference as a ''pro-India show'' and said these meets had nothing to offer to the ''oppressed and bruised'' people of Jammu and Kashmir.

In a statement to the local media here, Salahuddin also strongly criticised Prime Minister Manmohan Singh's statement at the third round-table conference in New Delhi on April 24 in which he said the security forces were deployed in Jammu and Kashmir for the safety of the people of the state.

However, Salahuddin, who also heads the Hizbul Mujahideen, said the ground reality and historic facts give a totally different and contradicting picture of the situation in the troubled-state.

''These statements can do nothing except damage the credibility of the Prime Minister and expose the Indian democracy,'' he said.

The Hizb supremo demanded immediate demilitarisation from Jammu and Kashmir so that the people live in peace.

He also said the participation of thousands of people in breakaway Hurriyat chairman Syed Ali Shah Geelani's rally at Eidgah on April 22 should serve an ''eye-opener'' for India.
