Rio inaugurates new Assembly Complex

Kohima, Apr 26: Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio has emphasised the need for introduction of new technologies to perform a flawless and accurate legislation for the benefit of the people and all round development in the state.

Inaugurating the new Assembly Complex, consisting of the Assembly Secretariat and the 'Legislators' Home', the MLA hostel at a new site near the State Secretariat about 15 kms from here yesterday, Rio hoped that with the great improvement in the physical infrastructures and amenities, the performance of the legislators would see corresponding improvement both inside and outside the house.

The Chief Minister reminded the gathering that the Nagaland Assembly had an enviable record of having had its Parliamentary debates with utmost decorum and discipline and hoped that the Nagaland Assembly would continue to be the standard bearer in maintenance of Parliamentary decorum and decency.

Welcoming the guests, Nagaland Assembly Speaker Kiyanelie Peseyie termed the occasion as a historic event for the Legislative Assembly of Nagaland.

The Leader of the Opposition I Imkong also spoke on the occasion and the function was chaired by Nagaland Chief Secretary Lalhuma.
