Operations on to rescue boy from borewell

Raichur, Apr 26 (UNI) Rescue operations were underway, to take out an eight-year-old boy who had fallen into a 36-foot-deep abandoned borewell at Neermanvi village in this district.

More than 50 experts from Hutti Gold Mines were digging a parallel pit in order to reach the boy who fell yesterday.

Meanwhile, a full-fledged medical team has been kept on stand by to provide treatment to the boy immediately after his rescus rescued.

A senior police officer said, ''we are just 1.5 feet away from the boy and will lift Sandeep within a couple of hours.'' Meanwhile, the supply of oxygen to the boy has been maintained.

According to the latest reports, Karnataka Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy was expected to visit the spot this afternoon.

Police were finding it hard to control the people coming to see the rescus operation from nearby villages.

The boy's father, who was crippled due to jaundice last year, was unable to visit the spot and mother, suffering from cancer, had been admitted to a hospital. She was not informed about the accident.
