Guwahati, Apr 26 (UNI) An 18-member delegation of the Myanmar Army today arrived at the Indian Army's 4 Corps headquarters in Tezpur in central Asom to hold discussions on border issues.

During their two-day visit to Tezpur, the delegation will interact with senior Army officers and call on the General Officer Commanding Gajraj Corps.

Various issues, including cross-border insurgency, smuggling and border management will be discussed during this meeting.

The Myanmarese delegation led by Brig Gen Tin Maung Ohn had earlier visited Rangapahar and Kolkata from April 23 - 25.

These liaison meetings are held twice a year to review and further strengthen friendly relations and discussion on issues of mutual interest between the two Armies.

The next meeting between both sides will held in Myanmar.

The visit comes a week after the Indian Army said that after the counter-insurgency operations in Asom and Arunachal Pradesh, ULFA rebels were trying to sneak into Myanmar.

''The Myanmar Army were cooperating with India to flush out the ULFA rebels from its territory,'' the Army had said.
