Mayawati confident of forming govt in UP

Robertsganj, Apr 26 (UNI) Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) president and former Uttar Pradesh chief minister Mayawati today asserted her party would come to power with a thumping majority.

Addressing an election meeting here, Ms Mayawati said the ruling Samajwadi Party has failed to control lawlessness in the state, while farmers are committing suicide and poor dying of hunger.

''Businessmen are being killed and people are being kidnapped in the SP regime.'' Lambasting SP chief and CM Mulayam Singh Yadav, she said Mr Yadav has anticipated defeat in the ongoing assembly poll, therefore, he is roaming around with other losing political figures.

''SP leader Amar Singh and Mr Yadav have mismanaged crores of rupees worth of public funds. BSP will seek its accountability, when it comes to power,'' she announced.

Ms Mayawati further claimed Congress, BJP and other political parties were supporting SP for vested interest.

Warning voters to be careful of other political parties, the BSP chief urged them to vote for BSP if they want development and prosperity.
