Mangalore Customs collects Rs 600.35 Crore during 2006-07
Mangalore, Apr 26(UNI) The Mangalore Customs Commissionerate, having jurisdiction extended to 17 districts of Karnataka, has earned Rs 600.35 crore revenue during 2006-07, thus registering a 101.75 per cent of the target fixed at Rs 590 crore, Commissioner Dr John Joseph said today.
Talking to newsmen here, he said that the target for the year 2007-08 was yet to be fixed. However, the estimated revenue for 2007-08 was Rs 660.55 crores which was 10 per cent more than last year revenue.
Dr Joseph said that since the Commissionerate had reached the target, the government had sanctioned one per cent of the revenue collected over and above the target towards the development of the Commissionerate.
