LS welcomes Pranab Mukherjee

New Delhi, Apr 26 (UNI) The Lok Sabha today welcomed External Affairs Minister and Leader of the House Pranab Mukherjee who had met with a major accident recently.

When the House met at 1200 hrs, after the first adjournment, Lok Sabha Speaker Somnath Chatterjee said, "Let all of us join to welcome the Leader of the House who survived a major accident recently." Mr Mukherjee who had got stitches on his head due to the accident, came to the House wearing a cap and participated in the proceedings.

On the Opposition demand for the Government's response to Hurriyat leader Syed Ali Shah Geelani's anti-national speech in Kashmir, Mr Mukherjee said he would make a statement on the issue after going through the reports.
