IISCO modernisation to be over by 2009

Kolkata, Apr 26: The modernisation of Indian Iron and Steel Company(IISCO) will be complete by 2009, IISCO Managing Director Nilotpal Roy today said.

"The modernisation programme of IISCO will be over by 2009 and it will become a world class company," Mr.Roy told reporters after meeting Chief Minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee at the Writers' Buildings.

The new look ISSCO, undergoing modernisation after being merged with Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL) last year,would be producing 2.5 million tonnes of crude steel.
