Haryana to set up State Labour Commission

Panipat, Apr 26 (UNI) Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda today announced that a State Labour Commission would be set up in the state soon to redress the grievances of the labourers.

Besides, Mr Hooda said the labour rules which had become obsolete would also be modified so that maximum benefit could be provided to the labourers.

''The anomalies prevalent in the pay scales of doctors and engineers posted in the Labour Department would also be removed,'' the Chief Minister said while after giving away the Haryana State Safety and Welfare Awards. The awards are given to those entrepreneurs who had done commendable work in maintaining safety measures in their industrial units.

Mr Hooda said the Haryana Government had attracted the investment of Rs 22,000 crore during the last two years and investment of Rs 53,000 crore was in the pipeline.

An investment of Rs two lakh crore would be made which would provide adequate employment opportunities for about 20 lakh people in the State.
