Greece to help India check human trafficking
Athens, Apr 26: As the Indian Parliament discusses the issue of human trafficking, Greece today said it will make all efforts with the south Asian country to check the menace.
Talking to mediapersons after India and Greece signed two agreements, Greek president Karolos Papoulias said human trafficking was a disgrace to society and his country was ready to extend all kind of help to India to eliminate it. Greece was short of a stepping stone for checking those illegal immigrants planning to go to Europe, he added.
When asked whether the issue of human trafficking was discussed with President A P J Abdul Kalam, he said, ''As we proceed on our dialogues with India, we will definitely take up the issue.''
