EFI commercially launches eco-friendly inks

Chennai, Apr 26 (UNI) Global leader in color digital print servers, superwide format inkjet printers and inks, EFI (Nasdaq:EFII) today announced commercial launch of its first eco-friendly solvent 'VUTEk(R) Bio Vu(TM)' inks.

According to a company release here, the 'Bio Vu' was EFI's yet another 'Green' initiative, launched as part of the company's long-held commitment to improve the environment and for the benefit of its global customers.

'VUTEk Bio Vu' from EFI was the first solvent-based ink made from a renewable resource (derived from corn) and the only ink recognised by the US Environmental Protecion Agency (EPA).

Though the ink was made from food-grade ingredients, it delivers the benefits of traditional solvent inks.

It gives the same color gamut as traditional solvent inks and the sers can seamlessly switch to these eco-friendly inks with no workflow or prepress process modifications, the release added.
