Delimitation Commission hearing in Nagaland

Kohima, Apr 26: A three-member delegation of the Delimitation Commission of India, who arrived at Dimapur yesterday, met the representatives of political parties of the state at the Chumukedima Police Complex.

Official sources said that the delegation is led by Dr M Sarangi, Deputy Election Commissioner (Delimitation)-cum-OSD to Chairman, Delimitation Commission, Shangara Ram, Secretary (Delimitation) and S K Mendiratta, Legal Advison of the Commission, listened to the views and suggestions made by the representatives of political parties.

Sources said the hearing was the prelude to the upcoming visit of the main members of the Commission.

Today the delegation will meet the representatives of various tribal bodies, tribal hohos to know their views on the Delimitation.

The delegation will leave for New Delhi tomorrow.
