CSL delivers Platform Supply Vessel to Norwegian Co

Kochi, Apr 26 (UNI) The Cochin Shipyard Ltd (CSL) today delivered a Platform Supply Vessel to Deep Sea Supply, Norway, the second of a series of eight ships being built for the Nordic company.

The platform supply vessel was the workhorse of the offshore oil industry and met specific demands of the industry for transport of deck cargo, pipes, liquid cargo and cement and unloading to rigs and production platforms and pipe-laying barges, a CSL release said.

These ships had been designed by Rolls Royce Ship Technology Group. The ship was built and classified under the most stringent rules and regulations of Det Norske Veritas and was classed for unmanned engine room and dynamic positioning grade I.

The vessel also satisfied 'CLEAN' notation of DNV, which would signify high standards of environmental safety.
