CR earns Rs 5,302 crore from loading
Mumbai, Apr 26 (UNI) The Central Railway (CR) has registered an increase of 21 per cent in its originating earnings, and 12.28 per cent in originating loading during the last fiscal, earning Rs 5,302 crore in this account.
The CR registered originating loading of 52.9 million tonne during the previous financial year (2006-07) as compared to 46.91 million tonne, achieved in 2005-06. During the last financial year, it had netted only Rs 4,374 crore under this account, an official statement said here today.
The CR's earnings from ticketless travellers also went up in 2006-07 as its cash register got richer by Rs 5.31 crore. During the various ticket checking drives carried out by CR in the last fiscal, the fine amount collected from offenders in 10.66 lakh cases yielded Rs 30.64 crore. In 2005-06, CR has earned Rs 25.51 crore from 9.54 lakh such cases.
