Centre agrees for rural bank

Puducherry, Apr 26 (UNI) The Centre has agreed to set up a rural bank in the Union Territory, PMK parliamentary party leader M Ramadass said today.

In a release here Prof Ramadass said durig his participation in the consultation committee meeting of the Finance Ministry in New Delhi yesterday, he had brought to Union Finance Minister P Chidambaram that a rural bank was yet to be set up in Puducherry, following which he had agreed to start one here.
